Baby….get your motor running!
My neighbor’s baby shower is today and here’s the gift I made for them. She knows she’s having a boy – so, I thought the diaper motorcycle would be neat – better then just giving her diapers and a bottle and receiving blankets and bibs and socks. I put whatever I didn’t use from the pack in the box — and kinda made it look like a road!
Summer is coming…I need shelter.
Well, the truth is it’s early January and we haven’t had a really good snow yet. So, the fact I’m thinking about summer is really out of kilter. I’ve been thinking about having a place in the back yard that’s fun to relax and read and just chill out.
The problem is summer here is HOT! Like, we had over 30 consecutive days of 100 degree plus weather — okay, maybe I exaggerate, but just a little. It was a record breaking hot summer. But, it wouldn’t feel so hot if there was a little shelter to cover —- get this—– a daybed made from a pallet and plumbing pipes! And, here’s my idea for covering it up.

This is a child's sandbox, but I wonder if I could do the same thing on just a little larger scale? A platform base (this one even has wheels), side rails and a plastic, tarp-like cover. Or, maybe even outdoor (water resistant) fabric.
Here's a picture of the pallet -- or, wait. How about, make the pallet daybed, then add 4 posts (something simple, maybe just pipes or pvc, and then add this top? That's really simple and the base is the pallet itself (not sitting the bed on another base)! Yes, I want to try that!
